Williamsport Mirror & Glass
Contractor, Fabricator and Supplier Since 1903
About Us

Established in 1903 by first-generation German immigrants from New York and Chicago, the Williamsport Mirror and Glass Company built its home at the site of a retired lumber mill in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Founders Joseph Schlegel and Adolph Maeulen were prototypical turn of the century American entrepreneurs who developed an original process for silvering mirrors, and quickly propelled the privately held company to the cutting edge of industrial production in the United States.

Utilizing a supply partnership with Pittsburgh Plate Glass, and the mill’s direct access to the Pennsylvania Railroad, Williamsport Mirror and Glass Company became one of the largest producers and exporters of beveled wall, furniture and vanity mirrors in the world in less than 20 years.  Remarkably, many of the mirrors produced during this period under the Pennant brand still hold their silver today.

Although our business model has evolved away from manufacturing over time, our commitment to quality and innovation has remained constant.  By diversifying in fabrication and contracting in the 1950s and 1960s, we have been able to expand our capabilities and build working expertise in a comprehensive way.

Today, we can say that if it has to do with glass, mirror or plastics, we can do it!
